Wooden Hub Cannon Wheel Enlargements & Specifications
(Please note that the pictures below have not been altered/improved or enhanced, (Other than cropped). They are what was taken directly at the Amish craftsmen's shop or trade show.)
These Cannon wheels are designed to look like the civil war era cannon wheels. They have 14 spokes, and a heavier wooden hub. They also have more "dish" and can support a great deal of weight. If you are looking for an extremely strong, solid wheel, look no further.
Instead of screws being used to fasten the metal tire we offer 3/16" bolts with flat heads that go through the rim/fellows and adds far more strength to the wheels as well as makes it look more authentic. (Choose option during ordering.)
A 7/8" hub hole has been drilled in the center of the hub on the 24" & 30" wheels and a 1 1/4" hub hole on the 36", and right now has a black pipe in the bore.
The 24" dia. and has a 1
1/4" wide rim/tire. The hub
is 5 1/4" long and 3 7/8" in
diameter. A 7/8" hub hole.
The 30" dia. has a 1 1/2"
wide rim/tire, with a 1 1/2" -
2" dish. The hub is 6 7/8"
long and 5 1/4" in diameter,
with a 7/8" hub hole.
